Bridging pension
A bridging pension is only relevant if you have built up benefits before April 2011.
State Pensions are paid in addition to your company pension. If you retire before you reach your State Pension age, other than on ill-health grounds, you may be eligible to take a bridging pension.
A bridging pension gives you a bigger pension from the scheme before State Pension age and a smaller pension afterwards.
We will send you details of the bridging pension nearer retirement if this applies to you.
